In between the Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, there is a fascinating village hidden in Switzerland called Interlaken. People from all over the world visit this lively and picturesque destination, which has been recognized as a popular and mesmerizing tourist spot worldwide. Many know Interlaken as the adventure capital because of the innumerable adrenaline-pumping activities that this place offers.

On the other hand, who says Interlaken’s charm is restricted only to Switzerland. Shenzhen park, Hong Kong (which was inaugurated in 2007) offers many of the luxurious services offered in Interlaken, from five-star resorts to the imitation of the Kappelbrücke, a popular wooden footbridge located in Lucerne, and even the iconic old train. Swiss flags have also been spotted in the re-created, popular park. Several shops selling classic Swiss souvenirs and goods are located in the many corridors that have been masterfully recreated in this “miniature Interlaken”. Although China’s version of Interlaken is a unique attraction, nothing surpasses a genuine Swiss Interlaken experience.

The all-year tourism to Interlaken is a prime example of its desirability among international tourists. Be it winter or summer, Interlaken is a true gem for tourists seeking adventure and relaxation year round. Some of the more daring activities offered at Interlaken can range from mountain climbing to bungee jumping for the most adventurous and risk-taking souls. Daily tours depart from the City Center towards their desired destination. This favorite getaway destination is also very active during the Winter. Skiing and Snowboarding around Interlaken are fueled by the many ski resorts in central Switzerland, some of them being the Jungfrau, Schilthorn, Beatenberg-Niederhorn, Grindelwald, etc.

For the not-so adrenaline fans, or simply by the ones that are looking to relax after a day of adrenaline fueled activities, there are other options like guided walk tours to the lake Thun or late Brienz. Another cherished activity is winter kayaking on the lake, an unforgettable experience that combines both the turquoise blue ice glacier water with the majestic view of the Swiss Alps. One of the most recommended sight-seeing activities by the Interlaken residents is the train ride to the Jungfraujoch, also known as the top of Europe. This unforgettable trip is fed by the different and amusing landscapes and villages seen from the train ride while it continues to go uphill.

The story of this magical place goes back far in the past. As the legend goes, Saint Beatus stumbled upon some caves that were a dragon’s home. Thousands of ancient homes and castles are still standing in Interlaken. Ancient Swiss traditions are very much still alive and celebrated by locals and visitors, the Ballenberg Open-air Museum is one such example that brings visitors back to times long gone.
